Are You Ready to Embrace Your Creativity?
I lovingly invite you to enter my Kaleidoscopic Time Machine. We're going back to our early childhoods . . .
Remember that scrumptious box of 64, 96, or better yet, 120 sharpened, never-taken-out-of-the-box-yet crayons someone gave you? Can you smell them now? Didn't you just want to savor them in their pristine newness before they got broken, lost, or your dog ate them? I'll bet you can envision yourself excitedly using them to draw and color a house, dog, monster, rainbow, or butterfly.
Can you also picture yourself dressed up and playing make-believe in your mom's clothes or lying on the grass with your best friend sharing images you saw in the clouds passing overhead?
Here's the wonderful news: that creative being is still inside you and has probably been trying to get your attention for years. She is your muse that the dictionary defines as your guiding genius. And I promise that you have one. Unfortunately, we also have our critics whose shrill cackles about our inability to draw a straight line can trick us into not trusting our power to make meaningful and beautiful art.
When I lead a women's creativity circle, I bring crayons for us to smell to remember and entice our muses. We show our critics the exit, at least temporarily. We gather in sacred community, set intentions, and experience our canvasses or collages magically transforming into portals of possibilities. It is not about "talent." It's all about accessing our innate wisdom and knowing. We listen to our inner voices who have been whispering their messages of joy and healing until they are hoarse. We not only hear them, we honor and celebrate them. We integrate our left and right brains and witness ourselves as the creators we are created to be.
Though the workshops or classes I teach may range from layered collage soul portraits to painting our prayers, they all share the common thread of going within and excavating the heart treasures that are waiting to be discovered by us, for us.
In my creativity coaching, I take on the role of way-shower on your creative journey, using various media techniques as a kind of art GPS to navigate the way home to you.
Going back to the dictionary again, a catalyst is defined as something that initiates change and incites activity. I would love to be your catalyst, to support, encourage, and empower you to know yourself as Artist. You not only can become that, you already are that. Maybe now is the time to remember?
Please contact me for information about upcoming workshops and classes or to arrange one-on-one coaching, either in-person or by phone. The sound you are hearing is the excitement of that inner creative being we visited in the time machine earlier ~ she is jumping up and down clapping, eager to come to life again. You will be amazed at her messages and miracles when she does.
